Tomorrow marks a historic day as for the first time, hunting will occur on a Sunday.
In a press release, the State Game Commission announced that tomorrow, November 15, will be the first of three consecutive Sundays where hunters will have an opportunity to hunt big-game opportunities with certain restrictions in place, one being that tomorrow is only open to hunt deer.
This rule was passed through Senate Bill 147 back in February, and it states that next Sunday, November 22, is open for bear hunting as part of the general bear season, and November 29 will be open for deer hunting using firearms. Any other Sunday after November 29 is only open for fox, coyote and crow hunting if it is open season for that type of game.
The Game Commission would like to remind area hunters that if hunting on private land, you are required to carry written permission from the landowner that contains their contact information, especially a phone number, as it will expedite the process if a game warden needs to check the validity of a permission slip.
