The injury-depleted Steelers’ defense faltered but made some game-saving plays in yesterday’s 28-24 win over Baltimore, and then the team reportedly went out and traded for a linebacker.
Already playing without linebacker Devin Bush for the rest of the season, the team ruled out nickel cornerback Mike Hilton with a shoulder injury before the game, then lost nose guard Tyson Alualu to a knee injury early in the game and defensive end Cam Heyward to a knee injury on the last drive. Defensive end Chris Wormley was placed on injured reserve on Friday, so the Steelers ended the game with only three healthy defensive linemen in uniform.
The Steelers scored three second-half touchdowns to come from behind and beat the Ravens. Ben Roethlisberger threw for 182 yards and two touchdowns, one each to Eric Ebron and Chase Claypool, James Conner ran for a score, and linebacker Robert Spillane returned an interception for a touchdown in the first quarter as Pittsburgh moved to 7-and-0.

Multiple reports say the Steelers have traded for Jets linebacker Avery Williamson. ESPN says the Steelers sent the Jets their 2022 5th and 7th round draft picks for the veteran, who played four years with the Titans and signed with New York in 2018. He led the Jets with nine tackles in yesterday’s loss to the Chiefs.
Elsewhere in the AFC North, the Browns were beaten by the Raiders, 16-6. The Bengals got their first win of the season, upsetting the Titans, 31-20.
The undefeated Steelers will be on the road next week as they take on the 2-and-6 Cowboys in Dallas. The Cowboys lost to the Eagles yesterday, 23-9.
