At their meeting Wednesday morning, the Indiana County Commissioners approved an increase in the rate for a room at Indian Haven, the county-owned nursing facility.
Under the proposal, rates would increase by 2% to keep pace with other nursing facilities who are also increasing costs. The new rate goes into effect on January 1st.
The Commissioners also approved a request from the Indiana County Office of Planning and Development for the Covid-19 County Relief Block Grant. Byron Stauffer of the Office of Planning and Development explains what the money will go to.
Voters are reminded of the General Election on November 3rd with mail-in ballots due by 8:00 PM that day. Ballots postmarked by November 3rd will be counted if received by November 6th. The Commissioners also announced extended drop-off hours for the drop box at the courthouse. The drop box will be available on Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM for people to drop off their ballot, and the box will be manned by a sheriff’s deputy.
Finally the Courthouse will be closed November 11th in observance of Veterans’ Day.
