In Indiana County Court today, there are a number of cases on the schedule, including a jury trial, four non-jury trials, five Plea Court appearances, and sentencing for two convicted defendants.
59-year-old Melvin McCloskey of Homer City will be sentenced for felony possession with intent to deliver in one case and to felony deposits of chemical waste in another. He was one of eleven suspects rounded up in a meth investigation in May of last year.
20-year-old Dustin James Yount of Dayton will be sentenced for criminal mischief.
A jury trial is scheduled to get underway for 32-year-old Darrell Dontay Eley of Braddock, Allegheny County. He’s charged with prohibited possession of a firearm, carrying a firearm without a required license, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. Eley was a passenger in a stolen car that was involved in a police pursuit in West Wheatfield Township last November. He was brought down by a stun gun as he tried to run away after the car crashed. The other suspect was later captured hiding in a hollow log in some nearby woods after a failed attempt to get a ride from a passing motorist.
Plea Court will be held for 32-year-old Matthew Brilhart of Northern Cambria, who is charged with robbery of a motor vehicle, two counts of endangering the welfare of children, simple assault, and three counts of reckless endangerment.
Also in plea Court today are:
- Carrie Ann Aukerman of Clune, for hindering apprehension, false swearing, and conspiracy, and in a separate case for possession of a controlled substance and harassment.
- Travis Kirbaugh of Punxsutawney, for harassment lewd or threatening language.
