The Purchase Line School District announced that the elementary school will be closed this week following a positive COVID-19 test of an unnamed staff member.
In a press release, Superintendent Shawn Ford said that through the PA Department of Health’s contact tracing protocol, it was discovered that the individual who tested positive came into contact with other elementary school staff members, forcing multiple quarantines and a week-long closure for thorough cleaning and sanitation protocol.
The closure will run from Monday, October 26 to Friday, October 30. During this time, students will shift to online learning and faculty members will coordinate with students for how classes will operate, and they will also be available at any time to assist students. Ford also urges district members to contact him with any questions.
The district will continue to monitor the situation and will provide students and parents if any further steps need to be taken.
