The Heritage Conference Cross Country championship is this afternoon at Marion Center Park, and the Stingers’ teams will be defending their championships.
The undefeated Marion Center girls will be looking for their 20th conference championship, and their 11th in a row. The Stingers’ girls have won 71 straight dual meets.
The Marion Center boys have won three straight titles and will be trying to clinch another one today.
The girls’ meet record is held by Homer Center’s Angel Piccirillo, who ran the course in 19:04.2 in 2011. The boys’ record holder is Marion Center’s Alex Woodrow, who blazed through the course in 16:45.2 in 2009.
Today’s championship meet begins with the girls’ race at 4:15, with the boys to follow.
