Several revocation hearings are set for today in Indiana County Court, but other hearings and jury selection will also be held today
Tyler R. Ozepy of Indiana will have plea court hearings today in two cases. One case goes back to December 26th of 2019. That’s when an informant under surveillance purchased an undisclosed amount of heroin at Ozepy’s apartment. Police conducted a stakeout on January 14th and took him into custody. Police found in his apartment seven bricks of heroin with a street value of about $5,100, along with $1,500 in cash and a gun. Authorities say that Ozepy took full responsibility for the drugs.
In one case, he faces two counts of felony manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to deliver, and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance for charges filed in the December controlled buy, and a felony charge of possession with intent to deliver and misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
Jury selection is also scheduled today for Darrell Dontay Eley, who is charged with felony prohibited possession of a firearm and carrying a firearm without a license along with misdemeanor resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. The incident dates back to November 30th of 2019, when he was the passenger in a stolen vehicle involved in a chase that started in West Wheatfield Township and ended in a crash near the Sheetz on Route 22 in Burrell Township. He and the driver, Andrew McCrommon of Pittsburgh, fled on foot, but police gave chase and Eley was apprehended after police used tasers. McCrommon was later found in a wooded area near Cornell Road.
McCrommon pleaded guilty to charges of receiving stolen property and fleeing or attempting to elude police, with all other charges not prosecuted. He is scheduled to be sentenced on November 16th.
