The Penguins have signed former Toronto and Ottawa defenseman Cody Ceci to a one-year, $1.25 million contract.
Ceci is a 26-year-old right-handed shooter who played 56 games last season, plagued by an ankle injury that limited his defensive range. He scored one goal and had seven assists with the Maple Leafs. He racked up 26 points the year before with the Senators, for whom he was the 15th overall selection in the 2012 draft.
The Pens also re-signed restricted free agent forward Sam Miletic to a one-year, two-way contract. he was an AHL All-Star last season with Wilkes Barre/Scranton.
