Playing without injured quarterback Kenny Pickett, Pitt fell to 12-ranked Miami, 31-19 yesterday. It was the Panthers’ third straight loss as they committed 10 penalties, gave up three sacks, and dropped three passes.
Limited to only 50 yards rushing, the Panthers were forced to the air, where backup QB Joey Yellen was 22-of-46 for 277 yards and a touchdown.
Pitt plays 4th-ranked Notre Dame next Saturday at Heinz Field.
