A Penn Run man was taken into custody last weekend after state police say he threatened his family with a loaded handgun at a home along Route 422 in Pine Township.
Court records identify the suspect as 67-year-old Dale Richard McCullough, who was arraigned Saturday before District Judge Susanne Steffee on 15 misdemeanor charges, including four counts each of terroristic threats, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person; two counts of endangering the welfare of children; and a single count of disorderly conduct.
Police were summoned to the home for a domestic disturbance involving a firearm at about 11:30 Saturday night. They report McCullough was threatening to kill four family members who had locked themselves inside a garage. Using the family’s Ring Doorbell system, troopers were able to locate the suspect outside of the garage door, and found him with a loaded revolver.
The victims were a man and woman, both age 43, and two 17-year-old girls.
Judge Steffee ordered McCullough held at the Indiana County Jail, with bond set at $25,000.
