The White Township Supervisors were informed Wednesday afternoon that their second offer for the VFW golf course was rejected by the property owners.
While numbers were not released, Township Manager Milt Lady said the offer was based on the average of two appraisals of the property, as required by township code. Lady said that there are still a few options left, but the options are few.
In other business, the supervisors approved creating a Halloween House Decoration contest for this year. Supervisor Sandy Gilette said that she was impressed with some of the displays already out, and was inspired to have the contest. A group of judges will be picked by Gilette and by supervisor Gail McCauley to select the winners. The tentative grand prize is the use of one of the township’s pavilions for a family event in the 2021 calendar year at no cost to the winners, and other prizes will be given out.
Full details on the contest will come on the township’s website, www.whitetownship.org
