After playing just eight games in a Penguins uniform, Patrick Marleau is returning to his longtime team, the San Jose Sharks. Marleau was acquired at the trade deadline to help the Penguins in the Stanley Cup playoffs, but the season was stopped soon afterward.
Marleau signed a one-year, $700,000 contract with the Sharks, who drafted him in 1997. He’s San Jose’s career leader in goals, with 518, and points, with 1,102. The 41-year-old is the second oldest player in the NHL after Boston’s Zdeno Chara.
