WHAT WE ORIGINALLY REPORTED:
A Clearfield County man died yesterday afternoon after a three-vehicle collision in which a Cambria County man was seriously injured in Green Township.
State police say it happened shortly before 3:30 PM on Route 286 near Hickory Lane when eastbound 40-year-old Warren Miller of Hastings crossed into the opposite lane and collided with a car driven by 30-year-old Christopher Ortman of Madera. Ortman’s car spun around and was struck by the vehicle that had been following behind him, driven by 35-year-old Leslie Angert of Commodore.
Police say Ortman and Miller were both flown from the scene of the crash, Ortman to the Indiana Regional Medical Center, where he went into cardiac arrest and died. Miller was flown to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh where he underwent emergency surgery. Angert was taken by Citizens Ambulance to IRMC for suspected minor injuries.
Ortman was pronounced dead at IRMC by Indiana County Coroner Jerry Overman Jr. (according to police), who has not yet issued a report on cause of death.
