The nation’s drug czar is coming to Indiana tomorrow.
The White House Office of National Drug Control Policy Director Jim Carroll will arrive in Indiana most likely in the mid-to-late morning tomorrow, and while en route, he will visit by telephone with Indiana In the Morning on WCCS.
Carroll will participate in a series of events with local leaders and advocates in the recovery community, including a tour of the Indiana County Children & Youth Services offices, where he will receive a briefing on the work of foster parents caring for children whose parents are suffering from substance use disorder.
Carroll said recently that authorities have noted that drug traffickers are increasingly active because they “think that out guard is down”. New York state officials have seen a 6,000 percent increase in drug seizures at the Canadian border.
First Lady Melania Trump this month announced a partnership with Carroll’s office to combat youth substance abuse. October is National Substance Abuse Prevention Month.
Director Carroll will be on Indiana In the Morning tomorrow at 9:10 AM.
