Pitt rallied from a 10-point deficit to tie Boston College on a school record 58-yard field goal by Alex Kessman and send the game into overtime, but lost to the Eagles, 31-30, when Kessman missed an extra point in the extra period.
Playing on a bum ankle, Panthers’ quarterback Kenny Picket completed 25 of 48 passes for 266 yards and two touchdowns. He found Taysir Mack for a touchdown in the overtime but Kessman failed on the the extra point.
It was Pitt’s second straight loss as they head into the toughest part of their schedule, with games coming up against Miami and Notre Dame in the next two weeks.
