After two weeks of working under a hybrid format, United Elementary Students will be allowed to return to class for face-to-face five-day a week instruction.
The return to face-to-face instruction comes as scheduled after United School District Officials announced on September 17th that the elementary school would go to a hybrid format two weeks as a pro-active step to prevent the spread of Covid-19 after two positive cases were discovered in the elementary school. During the two week period, students were able to continue their education through a virtual format or with “paper and pencil” tasks when they were not scheduled to come into school. Half of the student body would attend two days, the other half for two other days, and the fifth day was an all online format.
Superintendent Barbara Parkins said that the reason the district went to the hybrid format was that they wanted to keep the kids coming to school, as they felt students learn best when they are with their teachers.
The High School has gone with the in-person format since the start of the school year.
