While there were many DUI sentencings in Indiana County Court on Friday, there was one case that did not involve driving under the influence charges, and in that case, the suspect was sentenced on a charge of criminal mischief.
41-year-old Thomas C. Fry of Carnegie, Allegheny County, was charged with criminal mischief in connection with a domestic incident at a home on Delores Circle in White Township back on January 21st. He and a woman were involved in a verbal argument that allegedly turned physical and ended with him throwing a hammer at the car. Fry was initially charged with felony strangulation, misdemeanor simple assault and criminal mischief along with summary harassment. All but the criminal mischief charges were dropped at magisterial district court. Fry was ordered to pay fines and court costs and ordered to serve one year of probation.
A second case that Fry was involved in was a DUI case, and he was sentenced to six months of probation with 10 consecutive days on house arrest with electronic monitoring. The two sentences will run concurrently.
