The Indiana boys fell to Armstrong, 190-213 in a section match yesterday at the Kittanning Country Club. The Riverhawks’ Maddox Rearic was match medalist with a 2-under 33 and two other Armstrong golfers shot 37 as they set a school record for lowest match score ever.
Alex Holuta shot a 38 for Indiana and Danny Williams and Harrison Martineau each shot 42. Trevor Todd shot 43 and Zach Eisenhower a 48 for Indiana, which fell to 6-3 in the section. They will play at the Indiana Country Club today against Greensburg Salem.
None of the Indiana girls in the Section Three qualifier at the Murrysville Golf Club hit the target score of 89 to move on to the next round. Sydney Brice and Sara Kane came closest, just two strokes off the mark at 91. Jenny Todd shot 93.
Indiana will play its final Section 3 match today at home against Connellsville.
JR. HIGH FOOTBALL
The Indiana Junior High football team lost to Belle Vernon, 14-6 yesterday. Rocco Cosentino scored Indiana’s touchdown on a 20-yard run. Logan Fisher recovered a Belle Vernon fumble for Indiana, which is now 1-1 and will play Burrell at home next Wednesday.
