Indiana County’s first responders were active Monday afternoon and evening with incidents reported throughout the county.
A structure fire was reported on Salt Street in Saltsburg Borough at 1:22 PM, according to Indiana County 911. Saltsburg fire department would be joined by Tunnelton, Bell Township, Slickville, and Washington Township fire departments, along with Lifestat Ambulance, for the reported fire. No details have been provided on the fire.
A second structure fire was reported in Cherryhill Township. Pine Township, Cherryhill Township and Clymer Fire Departments were dispatched, along with the county’s Rapid Intervention Team and Citizens Ambulance. Jody Rainey of the Cherryhill Township Fire Department said that when fire crews got there, they discovered that the fire was a grease fire and it was already out. Pine Township assisted in ventilating the house, while the other crews stood by. Damage was minimal and limited to the kitchen.
There were also two calls for carbon monoxide alarm activations last night. At 6:00 Pm, Black Lick fire department was called out for the alarm at a location on Ridge View Avenue. And Indiana Fire Association was dispatched for the other activation at 1:25 this morning at a location on Warren Road in White Township.
