The Blairsville-Saltsburg School Board is scheduled to meet tonight, and on the agenda is the resignation of the acting superintendent.
No word yet on the reason for the resignation of Phillip Martel, who has been serving as the acting interim district superintendent since he was appointed to the position on August 6th. Martel took over for Jeffrey Soles, who resigned to take a superintendent’s position at the West Mifflin School District. Martel had also served the Blairsville-Saltsburg School District as their financial consultant after their business manager, Angela Mellenger, stopped working for the district. The resignation will go into effect on October 2nd.
The board will also look at possibly getting a new look to their website, as the board is set to approve a contract with Edlio at a start-up fee of $2,995 and an annual fee of $4,416.
The board is also looking at updating their phased school health and safety plan.
Tonight’s meeting will be held virtually, and a link to the meeting will be posted to the district’s website, www.b-ssd.org.
