IUP representatives are saying that they have taken actions to try to mitigate the spread of Covid-19 in the community.
Current mitigation efforts on campus include encouraging students to practice safety guidelines, such as wearing a face mask, staying six feet apart, and avoiding large groups, but even though students are adhering to guidelines while on-campus, IUP’s Executive Director of Media Relations Michelle Fryling said that for a student, that may be hard as they let their guard down when they leave campus and head to off-campus housing.
There have also been reports of large gatherings at some fraternities in the evening. Fryling said that the University’s Greek Life program has very strict guidelines to follow.
She also encourages everyone that if they see something wrong, they can report it to the University through the Office of Community Standards and Student Support.
