The Penguins traded center Nick Bjugstad to the Minnesota Wild over the weekend in exchange for a conditional draft pick in the 2021 draft.
The 28-year-old Bjugstad missed most of last season with a series of injuries. He would’ve cost four-point-one million dollars against the salary cap next season.
The Penguins promoted JD Forrest to become head coach at Wilkes Barre/Scranton. He;s been an assistant there for four seasons. Pens’ assistant GM Jason Karmanos will become the Baby Pens’ general manager.
