The Homer-Center Wildcats and Marion Center Stingers scored often and were among the winners in Week One of the high school football season.
Homer-Center’s Ben Schmidt completed 9 of 9 passes for 217 yards. Marion Center’s Justin Peterson rushed for 176 yards. In another game, Blairsville’s Zak Artley passed for 310 yards and Penns Manor’s Dimetri Lieb caught a touchdown pass and made two interceptions.
