At Thursday’s IUP Council of Trustees meeting, university President Dr. Michael Driscoll discussed efforts to make the university more student-centered.
Driscoll that those efforts are going to be part of the University’s new strategic plan.
Another point of that strategic plan is the issue of racism. Driscoll said one of the goals is to eliminate racism on campus.
The new strategic plan will be brought before the Council of Trustees for their meeting in December.
In other business, the council approved naming the rotunda in the new John J. and Char Kopchick hall the Anderson Rotunda. It is in honor of Bonnie Anderson, an IUP Alumni from the class of 1980 and the 2012 Distinguished Alumni recipient, and her husband Steve. Bonnie said the rotunda would be in honor of her parents, Edward and Donna Harbison.
The next council of trustees meeting is set for December 10th.
