IUP’s weekly Covid-19 Dashboard yesterday listed nineteen new confirmed cases of coronavirus, bringing the semester total to 23. Eight of those patients have since recovered.
The newest cases are all students, with 18 from Indiana County and one out-of-county. Eighteen of the 19 new cases are students living off-campus with only one involving a student living on the campus. Two of the infected students are using the university’s self-isolation beds, with one a confirmed positive and one a presumed positive awaiting test results.
IUP President Dr. Michael Driscoll said that the university did expect a bump.
Driscoll also said that one of the things that everyone needs to remember is that everyone is in this together, and that is something he is glad to see with the Together Indiana campaign.
The latest test results cover the period from August 31st to September 7th.
