Big congratulations today to former Indiana High quarterback Jake Zilinskas. Entering his senior season at Pitt, Zilinskas has been awarded a full scholarship by coach Pat Narduzzi.
Zilinskas walked on at Pitt as a quarterback in 2017 and has also played linebacker for the Panthers. This season, he switched to tight end and “has performed impressively in training camp”, according to a team release.
Narduzzi talked about Zilinskas after practice yesterday.
Linebacker John Petrishen has also been awarded a full scholarship for his senior season. And Maryland graduate transfer wide receiver DJ Turner has joined Pitt and is eligible immediately,
The Panthers have announced the times for their first two football games. The season-opening matchup against Austin Peay on September 12th will take place at 4 PM, while the following Saturday’s game against Syracuse on September 19th will be at noon.
After a meeting yesterday with president Trump, Big Ten Commissioner Kevin Warren is reportedly re-considering his decision to cancel the football season and may be thinking about restarting as soon as mid-October.
