Riding into PNC Park on a 4-game losing streak on Friday, the Pirates returned to Pittsburgh with an offensive showcase, as they defeated NL Central rival Milwaukee Brewers, 7-2, in the first of a three-game homestand.
Pirates’ broadcaster Greg Brown has a full recap on the game.
In other Pirates news, reliever Keone Kela exited last night’s game after five pitches with right forearm tightness. The move to pull Kela was made out of an abundance of caution, according to manager Derek Shelton. His status for tonight’s game is still to be determined.
Tonight, the Pirates return home to make it two in a row against the Brewers. Josh Lindblom takes the hill for the second time against Pittsburgh this season, while Derek Holland looks to get his first win on the mound for the Pirates.
You can hear tonight’s game on WCCS 101.1 FM and AM 1160. First pitch is at 4:05 p.m., and airtime will begin at 3:40 p.m. with the pregame show.
