First responders were busy Friday evening with multiple calls, including a reported structure fire in Glen Campbell Borough.
The fire was reported at 5:11 PM at a location on Route 286 East, according to Indiana County 911. Glen Campbell Fire Department, Cherry Tree and Burnside fire departments were dispatched along with the hazmat team and Citizens’ Ambulance. Officials with Glen Campbell Fire Department say that the fire turned out to be a brush fire that was contained by the person who had set it. He had built the fire on land he was preparing to build a house in the near future.
Another brush fire was reported in White Township on Fulton Run Road. That brush fire was at 10:06 PM, and Creekside firefighters were dispatched for that incident.
Adding last night’s brush fires, there have been 49 brush fires in Indiana County this year so far.
Four area fire departments were called out last night for a search detail. The Coral-Graceton fire fighters were initially called out at 8:52 PM, and they were joined by Homer City, Black Lick and Blairsville Fire Departments for the search in the area of Luciousboro Road in Center Township. Coral-Graceton Fire Officials say the search for the young child was called off before fire crews could start.
