The Pirates losing streak is at four after a weekend sweep by the Cubs in Chicago.

Bucs’ lefty Steven Brault threw three perfect innings before leaving the games as a planned exit by manager Derek Shelton. Brault said he was sharp right from the start.
Manager Derek Shelton was impressed with his starter.
Shelton did not blame third base coach Joey Cora for sending Jacob Stallings to the plate after Josh Bell’s 10th-inning hit. Stallings was thrown out.
The Pirates move on to Minnesota tonight for a home-and-home four-game set (two in Minnesota and two in Pittsburgh) against the Twins. Derek Holland will start for the Bucs against the Twins’ Lewis Thrope in a matchup of left-handers. The airtime is 7:45 on WCCS.
The Pirates placed pitchers Mitch Keller and Michael Feliz on the injured list yesterday. Keller left Saturday’s start with left-side discomfort while Feliz left in the eighth with right forearm discomfort. Cody Ponce and Sam Howard were called up from the taxi squad in Altoona and both pitched on Sunday. The Bucs also acquired right-hander Tyler Bashlor from the Mets in exchange for cash. Left-hander Robbie Erlin was DFA’d.
