The MLB Season could be halted just one week into the season.
ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports that MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred issued a warning to the player’s union on Friday that the season could be stopped if teams and players cannot contain the Coronavirus. Over the last week, there has been a rash of positive Covid-19 tests, including 21 positive tests in the Miami Marlins organization. They, along with the Philadelphia Phillies have had their seasons suspended for now. They were two of six teams who did not play on Friday night due to Covid-related concerns.
On a related note, the Pirates have been required to wear N-95 face masks on their current away series as they take on the Chicago Cubs and Minnesota Twins before heading back home to host the Detroit Tigers.
