One day after the PIAA approved a flexible start date for sports across the commonwealth, the WPIAL board of directors voted unanimously to follow the same basic plan. The guidelines will be released to the schools today.
On Indiana In the Morning on WCCS today, WPIAL Executive Director Amy Scheuneman said start dates for individual sports under the “hybrid” model will be sport-specific, meaning individual member schools cannot start their season before whatever date is established for each sport.
Scheuneman says that even though actual competition between schools will be flexible, practice start dates remain unchanged.
