The Penguins welcomed their captain back to practice yesterday. Sidney Crosby joined the team for a full practice for the first time since he left during a scrimmage last Saturday. Pens Assistant Coach Jaques Martin said that he and the team were excited to have Crosby back, and the team cheered and tapped their sticks as Crosby approached the team.
The Pens have not officially announced why Crosby has been out of team practice for the last week due to NHL rules prohibiting the public disclosure of medical information. Crosby has been skating on his own on several occasions before the whole team had their practice.
The Pens are ramping up their practices ahead of their trip to Toronto to play an exhibition game on July 28th as a warm-up game before the Penguins play the Montreal Canadiens in the Stanley Cup play-in series on August 1st.
