Sidney Crosby missed last night’s Penguins’ scrimmage, instead skating on his own earlier in the day. He’s been out since leaving a scrimmage last Saturday for an undisclosed reason. Coach Mike Sullivan said Crosby was “unfit to participate in the scrimmage.”
For the second straight scrimmage, the two squads battled to a 3-3 tie. Team Black got goals from Patrick Marleau, Jared McCann, and Jason Zucker while Team Gold’s goal-scorers were Anthony Angello, Teddy Blueger, and Conor Sheary.
The Penguins leave for Toronto on Sunday. They will play an exhibition game against Philadelphia on Tuesday afternoon and open the five-game series against Montreal next Saturday.
The new NHL team in Seattle will be known as the Kracken, after the mythical sea creature. The team will start play in the 2021/22 season.
