The Pirates will be without the services of Gregory Polanco for at least two weeks as he has tested positive for Covid-19.
The test results were confirmed by manager Derek Shelton on Friday afternoon, with Polanco’s permission. Polanco has missed the last three days of practice at PNC Park. Shelton said that Polanco was well and upbeat. He is the third Pirates player to test positive for Covid-19.
Shelton and starter Joe Musgrove said that Polanco was forthright and upfront with the office, and stayed away from teammates to prevent it from spreading.
