IUP President Dr. Michael Driscoll discussed the University’s plan for the upcoming fall semester.
In his video message, Driscoll said that one of the reasons why they are going with a hybrid model of both in-person and online classes is because he felt face-to-face instruction is still the best option, and that a recent survey of IUP students would prefer in-person education for various reasons.
Driscoll added that unless a medical concern prevents it, masks will be required in all public spaces, and social distancing must also be observed. IUP’s health service will test symptomatic students and provide support in case a positive test comes up, and there will also be routine cleaning and disinfecting going on. Driscoll also encouraged everyone to continue the healthy habits off campus as well.
Driscoll also acknowledged that the plans are subject to change if the situation changes.
