In a historic weekend of racing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, NASCAR and the IndyCar Series ran Saturday, and the NASCAR returns today.
Chase Briscoe and the XFinity series took to the track first, with Briscoe narrowly holding off Justin Haley, Noah Gragson, Austin Cindric, and A.J. Allmendinger in a tighly=packed group at the finish.
Scott Dixon took the checkered flag at the IndiCar Grand Prix, easily topping Graham Rahal and the rest of the field by almost twenty seconds.
Today, NASCAR takes the track for the Brickyard 400, without Jimmie Johnson, who has tested positive for the coronavirus. Justin Allgaier will take Johnson’s ride and move to the back of the pack from the fourth position because of the rule regarding substitute drivers.
