Pitt and West Virginia have extended the Backyard Brawl basketball rivalry through the 2022-23 season. The Mountaineers have won the first three meetings since the renewal of the series in 2017.
The two teams will play November 13th in Morgantown and at The Pete in Pittsburgh the following season.
The first official Pitt/West Virginia basketball game was in 1906. The Mountaineers lead the series, 99-88.
The football Backyard brawl between Pitt and West Virginia resumes September 3 of 2022 at Heinz Field. The last time the two teams played football, West Virginia won, 21-20 in 2011.
