The PIAA is saying that high school sports could resume sooner if schools use their downtime to prepare Covid-19 plans.
Even though Governor Tom Wolf has not yet released guidelines for high school sports during the pandemic, the PIAA is asking schools to plan for their individual district’s needs. According to a letter from PIAA executive director Bob Lombardi, he wants the plans in place so that when Wolf releases the Coronavirus details, districts can easily tweak their plans.
The PIAA did reiterate that teams will not be cleared for voluntary offseason workouts until the governor releases the Covid-19 guidance for high school athletics.
