Derry Area High School has a new football coach, and it’s a familiar name. Former Derry star Vince Skillings was hired last night to take over for Tim Sweeney, who left the school to coach Baldwin High School.
Skillings is a former Ohio State star who was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys and played in the Canadian Football League. He has coached at a number of schools but never as a head coach. He was on the United staff under Kevin Marabito and he tells the Tribune Review that Marabito assured him that he is ready to coach at Derry.
