The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture is teaming up with PennAg Industries for a $280,000 grant program to help out poultry, swine, lamb, goat and sheep processors in the state with the purchase of personal protective equipment.
The PPE Reimbursement Program will help processors or processor support services that needed to purchase the equipment to protect their workforce from Covid-19 and can provide a receipt of their purchase. Up to $1000 is available for bilingual training materials and signs, up to $5000 is available for prevention and surveillance tools like thermometers, and up to $10,000 is available for PPE and sanitation and cleaning materials, including masks, coveralls, gloves, face shields, hand sanitizer and other items.
Those who want to apply can fill out an application and send it along with copies of receipts to the Center for Poultry and Livestock Excellence at pennag@pennag.com Funding will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until June 12th or when funds run out.
