Whether there is professional baseball or not this year, it appears Pirates’ infielder Kevin Kramer’s season is over. Kramer is going to be sidelined four-to-six months following hip surgery. In a statement by the Pirates, the procedure was a “labral repair to address recent and chronic symptoms.” It was performed in Vail, Colorado by Dr. Marc Philippon.
The former second-round draft pick Kramer entered spring training fighting for one of the final roster spots. He hit .260 with 10 home runs at Triple-A Indianapolis last season.
