IUP’s freshman tennis sensation, Joanna Stralka, was named Atlantic Region Rookie of the Year by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association yesterday.
Stralka finished her stellar season with a 19-2 singles record, including the PSAC individual singles title last fall. She was 13-1 in tournament play, and had a 14-match win streak carrying over into the spring. She was also 6-1 as IUP’s number-1 in dual matches. Stralka ended the year ranked second in the region.
IUP’s Katya Minchenkova was named the Atlantic Region Most Improved Senior.
