The PIHL says it just ran out of time. The high school hockey league has canceled the remaining playoff games for the 2019-20 season, so the Indiana High hockey team will not get the chance to play its Class A Penguins Cup championship game against Thomas Jefferson.
Indiana’s march to the title game included a 4-3 win playoff over Bishop McCort followed by a 4-2 win over Kiski Area.
The championship game was to have been played March 16th at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry, with the state championships scheduled for March 21st in West Chester.
