The Steelers have announced their preseason schedule, hoping there will be a preseason.
Pittsburgh will play host to Tom Brady and the Buccaneers at 7:30 on August 14th and Drew Brees and the Saints at 8 PM on August 23rd. The final two games will be on the road, at the Jets on August 28th and at Carolina on September 3rd. Both of those games kick off at 7:30.
Steelers owner Art Rooney II issued a statement last night that former linebacker James Harrison was never given an envelope of money to help pay a $75,000 fine for an illegal hit on a Browns receiver in 2010.
On a podcast co-hosted by former teammate Willie Colon, Harrison said Coach Mike Tomlin handed him the envelope, but didn’t say what was in it. Harrison’s agent said it never happened, and Rooney says, “…there is simply no basis for believing anything like this.”
