Major League Baseball has developed a five-round draft for this year, with teams being permitted to sign additional players for no more than $20,000 after that.
Under that format, the Pirates would have six picks, including the seventh overall selection and a “competitive balance” player chosen between the first and second rounds, at pick number 31.
The virtual draft will be held June 10th and 11th.
