Things went smoothly again yesterday at the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport in Latrobe, where Spirit Airlines has resumed flying passengers to Orlando, Florida.
Spirit is offering three flights per week, with a stopover in Pittsburgh. The service resumed on Sunday, with special measures to protect passengers and staff from the coronavirus. People were eager to fly despite the fact that Orlando’s two big attractions, Disney World and Universal Orlando, remain closed.
The airport is sanitizing the terminal and passenger areas before and after each flight, is asking people to stay out of the terminal unless they need to be in it, and beginning next Monday will require that passengers and employees who deal with the public wear masks, except those age 2 and under and others who are not able to wear one.
Spirit has not yet announced when it will resume flying to Myrtle Beach.
