The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported today that the number of deaths attributed to Covid-19 in Indiana County increased by one in the last 24 hours to a total of five.
The number of reported positive cases of Covid-19 raised from 70 to 74 in the last 24 hours. Indiana – the 15701 zip code – has the most positive cases with 21. In the county, 22 ventilators are available. None are in use.
Among neighboring counties, Westmoreland reports the most positive cases, with two reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 405, and deaths increased by one at 27. Armstrong County’s total of positive cases increased by one to 53, with two deaths, while Jefferson County has six positive cases and Cambria County held at 34, with deaths at one.
The number of positive cases in Pennsylvania reached 50,957, an increase of 865 from Monday. The 26 to 49 year old age group has the most positive cases with 38 percent of the 50,092 cases. But reported deaths in Pennsylvania attributed to confirmed cases increased by 554 to 3,012.
These positive tested totals reflect how many people have tested positive since the Department of Health started recording and not how many people are currently ill.
While 50,957 have tested positive in the state, 199,925 have tested negative. In Indiana County, 782 have tested negative.
