Indiana High School grad Dylan Stapleton signed with the Houston Texans as a free agent yesterday after the NFL draft. His brother, Riley, had not yet signed with a team as of this morning. The two played their college football at James Madison University.
Dylan Stapleton is a 6-4, 245-pound tight end who caught 35 passes for 426 yards and a touchdown in 2019. He was named second team Colonial Athletic Association all-star and the Virginia Sports Information Directors First Team All State. He transferred to JMU after spending two seasons at Slippery Rock.
Riley Stapleton is a 6-5 230-pound wideout and slot receiver who finished his James Madison career as second all-time in receptions and receiving touchdowns. He had 65 receptions for 788 yards and 10 touchdowns and was named HERO Sports Preseason Third Team All-American and was one of three Gary Clark Offensive MVP Award recipients. He also made the CAA Football Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll.
