The state Department of Environmental Protection announced that Indiana Borough was one of twenty counties that were recognized for developing plans to manage the risks of climate change in the community.
The DEP announced that Indiana Borough entered the Local Climate Action Assistance Program and for less than a year now, have been working on plans concerning greenhouse gases, according to Nicholas Zimmy-Shea of the borough’s planning department.
He added that as part of the program, the borough has received the assistance of two college students.
The plan is still in its early phases but it will go before Indiana Borough council after it is complete.
