NFL NOTES: TUA RE-EVALUATED, HENRY SIGNS TENDER, DRAFT APPROACHES

Another check on the surgically-repaired hip of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has come back “overwhelmingly positive,” according to a report from NFL.com. The former Alabama star is recovering from a dislocated right hip suffered in November.  He did not participate in last month’s scouting combine, but has been since cleared by doctors to perform football-related activities. Tagovailoa is expected to be among the top picks in the upcoming draft and is widely believed to be a target of the Dolphins and Chargers, who hold the fifth and sixth
overall selections.

Titans running back Derrick Henry has signed his franchise tender that will pay the 2019 NFL rushing leader $10.2 million for the 2020 season.  Tennessee GM Jon Robinson said he has been in contact with Henry’s representatives towards a multi-year contract, with the two sides having until July 15^th to work out an agreement.

NFL.com says that the league has issued a memo to all 32 teams outlining two possible scenarios pertaining to this month’s draft, including an option that would have clubs operating completely remotely and being prohibited from having any officials present at a team’s facilities. Another option would allow a limited number of team personnel to operate out of the club’s headquarters provided the facility complies with health and safety guidelines established by a league physician. The NFL draft is scheduled for April 23^rd through the 25^th in a conference-call format.
